A lot has happened in cricket in last few days, especially in Indian cricket. On Wednesday, May 7, star India opener and skipper Rohit Sharma put down curtains to his Test career ina sudden move, followed by the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals getting called off abruptly. This followed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to suspend the tournament for a week’s time, following Virat Kohli’s retirement from the longest format.

While it has been a rollercoaster ride for most of the Indians, precisely in this week, but the fans are hoping to give a befitting farewell to the star batter and legend, Virat Kohli, who put down curtains to his Test career on Monday, May 12. It is to be noted that Kohli retires having amassed 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries to his name in 123 Tests he has played across 14 years.

RCB fans urge spectators to wear white for RCB vs KKR IPL 2025 match

Seeing the veteran cricketer end his stint in the longest format, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans have urged spectators to don whites, preferrably India whites to honour one of the greats of the game. In a post going viral, the message reads, “For the next RCB match, could you help spread the word and encourage fans to wear Test whites in the stadium as a tribute to Virat Kohli? He made so many of us fall in love with Test cricket, and even though I’ll never get to see him play in whites live, I just want him to know how deeply loved he was in his favourite format. This gesture could be a powerful way to show that his legacy goes far beyond stars - it lives in the hearts of fans.”

“Please think about it and help us make it real. It would mean the world to many of us. I even made a template. I also think we can raise fund to give away jerseys outside chinnaswamy. That’s our best chance. Even if not jerseys plain white tshirts should do”, it further added. However, there is no update on the same, but with Kohli playing for his IPL franchise in Bengaluru, it is likely to come to reality seeing the fandom he boasts of.

Speaking of Kohli in the IPL 2025, he has dominated the run-charts, having amassed 505 runs from 11 matches at an average of 63.13 and a strike rate of 143.46. However, he held the Orange Cap for a brief period, he currently sits fourth in the list after Suryakumar Yadav (510), Sai Sudharsan (509) and Shubman Gill (508).
