Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) legend Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas Kohli has taken a sly dig at former India player and renowned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar. Before the marquee clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7, Manjrekar claimed there was no contest of best vs best between Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. The former India batter also asserted that Kohli’s peak is a past thing. Following that incident, he has also posted on social media platforms related to best batters in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and ignored Kohli, emphasising on the strike rate.

Taking a swipe at Manjrekar, Kohli’s sibling Vikas took to social media platform Threads and wrote, "Sanjay Manjrekar.Career odi strike rate : 64:31. Easy to talk about 200 plus strike rates." Manjrekar served Team India for nine years from 1987 to 1996 and during this period, he scored 1994 runs in 74 One-Day Internationals (ODI) at a strike rate of 64.30.

RCB will host Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru on May 3

RCB’s next assignment will be against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 3. Challengers have won their last three matches comfortably and they will look to become a cause of headache for the Yellow Army while playing at home. Kohli is in brilliant form in this season again, amassing 443 runs in 10 games at a strike rate of 138.87. With these numbers, he is the second-highest run-getter in the tournament, thus far.

As the tournament is heading towards the playoffs round, RCB will expect Virat Kohli to maintain his form and deliver fine starts to the side as an opener. Talking about CSK, they are currently at the bottom of the points tally with just two wins and seven losses in nine games, and another defeat will confirm their exit from the competition.
