Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a deal worth £8.4 million fee to sign Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold before the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 begins next month. It is understood that the Englishman will become a Real Madrid player on Sunday, June 1, following the decision from Liverpool to accept the offer from the Galacticos to release him from his contract, allowing him to join his new club prior to the aforementioned tournament.

Earlier this month, Trent Alexander-Arnold had announced his decision to leave his boyhood club Liverpool at the end of the season, but he would have become a free agent after his contract with them expired on June 30. Although with the Club World Cup set to be played from June 14 to July 13 in the United States, FIFA had approved an additional window from June 1 to 10 for the participating clubs to sign new players.

Trent Alexander-Arnold signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid

With Real Madrid coming on board to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold, wanting him to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, they managed to successfully broker a deal to get him out of his Liverpool contract a month in advance. Apart from that, it is very important to note that the English player has signed a six-year contract with the Galacticos, which would be the prime years of his career.

During his career at Liverpool, the 26-year-old managed to win multiple titles, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. He ended up scoring 23 goals and provided 86 assists while playing primarily as a defender in 352 appearances for the Merseyside club.

Apart from signing Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid have already made one big change in the team set up, replacing Carlo Ancelotti with Xabi Alonso in the managerial role.
