It has been confirmed that England player Trent Alexander-Arnold, who served Liverpool for nine years, will be seen wearing the No. 12 jersey in his new club Real Madrid. In a picture going viral on social media, Alexander along with Madrid Club President Florentino Pérez posed with the former’s number 12 shirt. During his nine-year stint with Liverpool, Trent showed up in 259 matches and scored 18 goals. He was a part of Liverpool’s success in the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and Premier League in 2024.
In Liverpool, he wore the No. 66 jersey and retained the figure until his exit from the club. However, as per La Liga guidelines, he cannot carry the number with him in the Spanish club. Trent will be a part of Real Madrid for the upcoming group games of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to be played from June 14 to July 13. During the competition, he will get the liberty to wear his number 66 jersey as the FIFA Club World Cup does not apply any stern regulation on shirt numbers. The 26-year-old will also have to sacrifice his family name on the back of his shirt. In Madrid, he will have to use his first name Trent on his jersey’ back.
