Lucknow Super Giants star batter Nicholas Pooran recently opened up on his bond with franchise skipper Rishabh Pant and said they both share the same trauma. Notably, both the wicketkeeper batters have met with an car accident in thee past and went on to make a great comeback in their career.

Nicholas Pooran suffered a near fatal car accident at the age of just 19 years in Trinidad in 2015. The accident brought him on a wheelchair and had multiple surgeries on his knees and ankle. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant also became a victim of a brutal car accident in December 2022 on his drive from Delhi to Roorkee.

“Even before the incident we (him and Pant) had a good relationship. We always connect. We always chat, get together whenever we can. If he's in the Caribbean or if I'm here. Accident is just something which was really unfortunate in our respective journeys but the bright side is we're here playing cricket today. And that is a wonderful feeling. But yeah, we share our experiences. We try to help each other as much as we can." Nicholas Pooran told PTI.

He's been brilliant when it comes to supporting the guys: Nicholas Pooran on LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka

Speaking further, Nicholas Pooran also heaped praise on LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka stating that he has been very supportive and gives liberty to everyone to make decisions. Notably, Goenka has earned a reputation of a strict owner after his video of scolding former skipper KL Rahul went viral from last year’s IPL.

“He's (Sanjiv Goenka) been brilliant when it comes to supporting the guys. He allowed the guys to make the decisions, based on the cricket. That's what I have felt so far. The owners have given the guys enough opportunities and obviously that has an impact on the game for the whole team and that was wonderful,” Nicholas Pooran said.
