Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Indian opening batter, spoke in an exclusive interview about how representing the national team is the biggest motivation for him in his young cricketing career. The Mumbai-based cricketer, who scored 30 runs off 50 balls for India B in the Duleep Trophy clash against India A at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, looked forward to playing Test cricket for the national team in the new season while stating that any opportunity to play for India is incredible.
Notably, in his Test career, which started in July 2023, Yashasvi Jaiswal has played nine matches, scoring 1028 runs at an average of 68.53 at the top of the order for India. After scoring 171 in his debut Test innings against West Indies in the Caribbean, the left-handed batter has gotten a total of three hundreds along with four fifties in the first year of his long format career.

After his batting performance in the first innings for India B in Duleep Trophy, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave an interview to JioCinema, talking about the value of domestic cricket. He said, as per PTI, “It's a great opportunity whenever we have the chance to play the Duleep or Ranji Trophy. I'm really looking forward to that, and I hope I'll enjoy my game. I'll try my best.”
Following that, Yashasvi Jaiswal opened up about playing for his country, and why he considers it as the pinnacle of the sport before elaborating on his plans to improve his game. He said, “Any opportunity to play for India is incredible, and representing the country is the biggest motivation that I have. I have worked hard to keep up my form and continue to do so to ensure I maintain it. The more consistent I stay with my practice and preparation, my results will improve. I don't overthink, I just need to prepare well and keep improving myself as a player. The more I repeat these steps, the better I'll get.”
India will be touring Australia for the five-match BGT Test series
During the next five months or so, India are slated to play a whopping ten Test matches, including five at home and five in away conditions .After hosting Bangladesh and New Zealand for five Tests, the Indian cricket team will embark on the tour to Australia to play a five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test series, starting on November 22.
