Robert Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi recently revealed his client’s transfer plans for the next season. Lewandowski, who was left out of Barcelona’s squad for the last LaLiga fixture against Osasuna has a contract till June 2026. While there have been rumours before about Lewandowski making a move to some of the Saudi clubs, his agent recently shut off those rumors by revealing his plans for the near future. He said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, “Robert will stay at Barca next season, it’s 100% sure.” However, he ruled out the possibility of an exit in this upcoming summer window, he also added, “He’s happy at the club. He has a contract there and he will respect it until the end of its deal.”
Lewandowski, who is currently leading the Pichichi race for this season with 21 goals in LaLiga, above Kylian Mbappe’s 17 goal tally, has come under scrutiny multiple times this season for not being reactionary enough and delivering when it is required the most. The 36-year old has sometimes struggled to put away easy chances in front of the goal this season.
Lewandowski’s impressive numbers at FC Barcelona
Lewandowski, despite his age, has played 41 games for Barcelona across all competitions, starting in 39 of those. His goal tally for the season is equally impressive with 34 goals already to his name, with nine in the Champions League as well. The Polish striker is currently playing his third season with the Blaugrana and has already scored a mammoth 93 goals for the Spanish outfit, showing his sheer quality as a striker.
Regardless of all of this, due to his age, Barcelona will definitely look to bring in a young striker soon as they would slowly want to phase out Lewandowski from the squad as he nears his age of moving out of competitive football. While Saudi Arabia could be a potential option for the striker, his agent denied any immediate moves. He said, “Saudi offer? We’ve not received it.”
