Legend and 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer is all set to mark his return to tennis court. The Swiss international, who put curtains to his international career in September 2022 with the Laver Cup being his final ATP tournament, the 44-year-old recently announced his comeback to the tennis court.
The Swiss, who is often seen on the sidelines of Grand Slam tournaments, making his most recent appearance at the Wimbledon 2025, confirmed his return, albeit for an exhibition match. The former tennis star will be featuring in the “Roger Federer & Friends” celebrity doubles match, set to be played on October 10 at Qizhang Stadium in Shanghai, China.

“Hello, this is Roger, and I am really happy to be returning to Qizhong Stadium in Shanghai for the Rolex Shanghai Masters,” Federer said in a video, shared on X. “Shanghai has always been a special place for me, with great fans, unforgettable memories, and a real love for the game,” he added.

Notably, Federer during his playing days, won the Shanghai Masters title twice -once in 2014 and the second coming in 2017. In the exhibition match, he will be joined by CHinese actor Wu Lei, martial artist and actor Donnie Yen and former World No. 3 doubles player Zheng Jie.
