Mumbai Indians’s star batters Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav were seen attending the wedding of India’s throwdown specialist Dayanand Garani on Friday (21 April). The players were seen posing with his family members at the wedding.
Dayanand Garani has been an integral part of the Indian Cricket team’s support staff as the throwdown specialist since the past few years. He can clock deliveries of 140+ kmph in the nets consistently. He was a part of the Punjab Kings’s support staff before he was called up to work for the Indian team. He got the chance to share the dressing room with the likes of Anil Kumble, Chris Gayle and KL Rahul during his stint with Punjab Kings.
Dayanand was called up to the Indian team for the first time during the famous India-Australia series in 2020-21. He was called urgently to Australia, as the regular throwdown specialist Raghavendra was suffering from COVID-19. He took this opportunity with both hands and became a permanent part of team India’s support staff.
Star players like Virat Kohli have showered praise on Dayanand earlier for his crucial contribution to the team. Virat Kohli was seen saying in a video that due to these throwdown specialists who bowl at 140-150 kmph consistently in the nets, we are able to get ready for the matches. He also thanked the throwdown specialists for their hard work.
