Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Kamran Akmal has berated Babar Azam’s father Azam Siddique for his offensive post on Instagram. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) declared their team for the New Zealand tour for five T20Is and three ODIs, and Babar Azam couldn’t make it to the T20I squad. Along with Babar, Mohammed Rizwan also faced a snub from the team that will confront the Kiwi side in the shortest form of the game from March 16. The omission of both players caught a lot of eyeballs as several legendary players reacted to the exclusion of both star players. Babar’s father Siddique had also issued a warning to former Pakistan players through his social media post.

Appearing on ARY News, Kamran berated Siddique’s social media activity and said the post is an insult to the Pakistan Cricket Board as cricketers’ families shouldn’t be commenting on the board’s policies. "The family should not comment on PCB's policies. Whether it is the family or any other player, you should not comment on PCB's policies. It's an insult to the PCB and he shouldn't be posting such stuff," remarked Akmal.

Azam Siddique had launched surreptitious attack on former Pakistan stalwarts through his Instagram post

Babar’s father Azam Siddique expressed his views regarding his son’s exclusion from the squad through a post which warned former Pakistan cricketers, who have been the staunch critics of Azam recently. Babar came under fierce criticism after failing to do wonders with his bat for Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025. The 30-year-old will next be seen in action against New Zealand in the three-match ODI series which will be played from March 29 onwards.

"The boss is always right. Despite being part of the ICC's T20 Team of the Year, he was dropped. It's fine; he will perform in the National T20 and PSL. Insha Allah, he will make a comeback. That's the only respectable. They are very big former players. They are requested to keep their words right. If someone answers back, they may not be able to tolerate. You are the past and the door will never open," read Siddique Azam’s Instagram post.
