Many fans consider January 19, 2021, one of the most memorable days in the history of Indian Cricket as India defeated Australia and clinched the Border Gavaskar Trophy on the final day of the series at the ‘Fortress Gabba’. Despite missing their big names,  the series became one of the greatest that India has played in overseas conditions as Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant delivered a majestic knock at the Brisbane Cricket Ground.

Rishabh Pant played a thundering knock of unbeaten 89 off 138 balls on the final day, leading India to chase down the target of 328 runs against the mighty Australian bowling attack. Needless to say, it is one of the most memorable innings the youngster has played. Pant, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation and recovery after a deadly accident last year, relived his fearsome innings on his social media. He shared a video on his Twitter stating, "Still gives me goosebumps 🙃."

Pant, the star of the day, played brilliantly, shouldering most of the pressure and took India to a historic victory of 2-1 against Australia. The 25-year-old batter of the Indian cricket team suffered serious injuries during a death-dealing car accident in December, last year. He is currently on his road to recovery and isn’t a part of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League.

In Pant's absence, David Warner is leading the Delhi Capitals, who are currently on the ninth place in the standings and yet to win a game after playing three matches in the IPL 2023.
