England needed a victory or draw to clinch the series, while India were fighting for a win to draw the series. A heartfelt performance from the Indian cricket team, especially the crucial spells from pacers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna in the England second innings, helped them earn a hard-fought and historical victory against England by just six runs while defending 373-run total, drawing the series 2-2.
Suniel Shetty, who is a renowned Bollywood actor and the father-in-law of the Indian opener KL Rahul, was in attendance at The Oval in London on the last day of the fifth Test match. He could not manage to contain his excitement, screaming out of pure joy after seeing India’s unreal victory against England. Shetty was seated in the stands, overwhelmed with pride seeing his son-in-law and the entire Indian cricket team pull out an unexpected thrilling victory out of nowhere. He screamed on top of his lungs as he could not believe what he just witnessed.

The Indian cricket team were put under pressure by England in the second innings as Joe Root and Harry Brook started to counter-attack the bowlers, chasing the 374-run target quite quickly. Both the batters completed their centuries, building the confidence in the English dugout in what looked like a certain victory.
However, the Indian cricket team showed immense grit and determination to not lose hope even though the scorecard was against them and continued to battle against England. The whole team stuck together and fought as a unit, to get themselves back in the game before the heroics of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna made sure that India secured their narrowest victory in a Test match by runs.
