Hilarious memes are reigning the internet related to India’s semi-final contest against Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025. With the 44-run victory over New Zealand in the final Group A game, India concluded at the top of the points table with three consecutive wins and set their knockout fixture against the Aussies in Dubai on March 4. India will take on Australia for the first time in ODIs after the six-wicket defeat against the Men in Yellow which came back in the 2023 World Cup final held in Ahmedabad in November. Travis Head played an instrumental role in Australia’s success then with his 137-run innings off 120 deliveries. His batting brilliance also got him the player of the match (POTM) award.
On the other hand, Team India’s campaign in the ongoing 50-over ICC competition reminds their fans of the 2023 World Cup campaign when India landed in the knockouts as unbeaten after winning 10 games in a row but failed to cross the Aussie challenge in the final. In recent times, Head has performed exceptionally whenever India played under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Noting the fact, netizen are posting humorous memes regarding the rivalry between Rohit and Head. A X user with a username Secular Chad posted Head’s interview where the 31-year-old Australian calls Rohit Sharma the hottest Indian player. Reacting to Head’s statement, the user wrote, “Travis head bhai ye kaisa toxic love hai Rohit Sharma ke liye.”
Travis Head will strive to continue his dominance against India
Travis Head started his Champions Trophy 2025 campaign in a miserable fashion after failing to deliver a fine start against England in his team’s opening game in Lahore. Head regained confidence against Afghanistan where he smashed an incredible unbeaten 59 off 40. His formidable knock will daunt Team India as the southpaw has performed phenomenally against them across all formats in the last couple of years.
In the last two ICC knockout games against India, Australia rode on Head’s batting excellence to get the better of the Men in Blue. This time, India will be wary of the star Aussie opener and will also look to chalk out a plan to send him back to the pavilion as soon as possible.
