Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League’s outfit Al-Hilal. The 26-year-old is currently on loan at the Turkish team Galatasaray but is owned by Italian club Napoli. With Napoli highly likely to sell their striker, several clubs have shown interest in him. Noting that, Al-Hilal were looking to reserve the services of Osimhen for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, set to be held in the United States (US) from June 14 to July 13. In his nine-year club career, Victor has served European clubs only, and reports from Football Italia have claimed that he prefers to live in Europe only.
The media house also went on to assert that Osimhen has also turned down the offer from the Saudi outlet. After Osimhen reportedly declined the offer, his manager Eric Chelle gave a statement which solidified his prospects of joining Manchester United. “Victor is, for me, the best striker in the world. For him it is difficult to come for this game because he played a season with a lot of pressure. The reality is there is a transfer window. During this time, a player like him is not focused at 100%. Maybe a club like Manchester United. Or maybe Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid. So he needs to be focused on that,” said Chelle. However, despite failing to tempt him, Al-Hilal have made another offer to the young striker, claimed journalist Simon Jones from Mail Sport.
Several distinguished clubs also show interest to sign up Osimhen
Arsenal were looking to sign England footballer Ollie Watkins earlier this year but after failing to get him in their squad, the English club may be seen making a move for Victor Osimhen. Napoli’s rival Juventus are also striving to get the services of the young striker as Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedulla has asserted that the Nigerian is one of the club’s two main priority signings this summer.
Galatasaray, who are relishing the services of Osimhen on loan, might also make him a permanent member of the side. As per reports in Istanbul, Galatasaray have assembled something of a warchest to afford the fee and wages needed to get Osimhen.
