Real Madrid have made a sensational signing of 18-year-old Arda Guler from Fenerbahce. The youngster, who has been dubbed 'the Turkish Messi', has signed a six-year deal with the Spanish giants and will join a squad full of exciting young talents. Vinicus Jr has reacted to this news in no time as another talent joins the Spanish giants.
Guler is expected to join Real Madrid's pre-season training camp in the coming days and will compete for a place in the starting lineup with Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelian Tchouameni, and Jude Bellingham.
Vinicius Jr has been a key player for Real Madrid since his arrival in 2018 and the 23-year-old has welcomed his new teammate with a reply to the official announcement from the club. Vinicius tweeted, “One more that chooses the largest.”
Rival club Barcelona were pegged to sign the midfielder but were beaten to the punch by Real Madrid. According to reports, the Blaugrana were unable to sign him because of increased commission and overall cost. Fenerbahce isn’t going to get the lion's share of that fee as Guler’s father will get a key sum of around €15m and funds getting split around elsewhere.
The 18-year-old will reportedly cost around 50 million euros for the Los Blancos excluding the salary. Guler scored six goals and seven assists in 35 appearances for Fenerbahce last season in all competitions. The midfielder will look to move up the ranks in the already stacked midfield at Madrid.
