Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister, one of the biggest signings in the ongoing summer transfer window, received a straight red on his first outing at Anfield on August 19, Saturday. During the second matchday of the Premier League against Bournemouth, the Argentine footballer got his marching orders from the referee, after a harsh challenge on Ryan Christie, the Scottish midfield player.

The 24-year-old had signed for Liverpool on June 8, during the initial stages of the transfer window, for an undisclosed sum from Brighton. The five-year contract was reportedly for the initial fees of £35 million, totalling to £55 million including add-ons.

Notably, the red card offence from Alexis Mac Allister happened in the 58th minute of the match, when he attempted to keep the promising move from Liverpool, who were leading 2-1, in Bournemouth’s half. But, his challenge on Ryan Christie was a mistimed one, with the studs into the left leg of Ryan Christie.

But with 10 men, Liverpool still managed to extend their lead to 3-1, just four minutes later, to ease the nerves of fans at Anfield. It happened when Dominik Szoboszlai, another summer transfer signing, took a shot from outside the box, which was deflected on its way to the Bournemouth goalkeeper Pedro Neto, who spilt the ball only for Diogo Jota to have one of the easiest tap-in goals in his professional career.
