The Wednesday evening is seeing Delhi Capitals (DC) locking horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The two teams took the center stage after Delhi Capitals won the toss and asked Punjab to bat first. Things did not go as planned for Punjab as they lost four early wickets.

Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan steadied the ship for Punjab for a while, but it proved insufficient with DC bowlers breathing fire. With wickets tumbling, it seemed Punjab's total won't even cross the 100-run mark. But some lusty blows from Rahul Chahar and some good placement from Arshdeep Singh pushed them over the line.

Arshdeep Singh also played the last ball of Punjab's innings. As the batter was trying to accumulate as many runs as possible so that he could defend while bowling, he also lost his cool at Vaibhav Arora. On the last ball of the 20th over, Arshdeep failed to connect his bat with the ball, but he tried to steal a run. However, his partner at the other end, Vaibhav Arora did not respond which left Arshdeep frustrated and the batter then gave Arora a deadly stare.

Punjab fail to impress!

After a shambolic performance with the bat, Punjab Kings continued to suffer against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. Their bowlers were also taken to the cleaners by the DC opening duo of Prithvi Shaw and David Warner. The duo looked in a hurry to finish the game as they aggregated 81 runs in the first six overs. Both Warner and Shaw kept the charge on and never allowed Punjab bowlers to settle their line and lengths.

Even after Shaw was dismissed after his quickfire knock of 41 off 20 balls, David Warner continued his assault. The southpaw continued his good form in IPL 2022 and registered his third half-century off just 26 balls. He also played the winning shot for his team as he scored a boundary off Rahul Chahar's third delivery of the 11th over.
