Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Axar Patel is known for his lively attitude and exceptional all-round prowess in the cricketing circle. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, he is handling DC’s captaincy mantle and as a leader, he has done a fine job for the team, so far. Ahead of his team’s clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Delhi, Axar was seen having a great time during a practice session. Taking to X, DC dropped a video in which KL Rahul can be seen facing a delivery in the nets. While attempting to smash the ball with great force, Rahul’s bat gets splitted into two parts.

In the clip ahead, Axar was seen holding the bigger chunk of the bat and asking his teammate Tristan Stubbs, “Hey Stubssy how are you?” Replying to Axar’s question, the South African said, “I am good, how are you?” This time, Axar introduced Stubbs to Rahul’s bat saying, “See my new bat”. Reacting to Axar’s hilarious comment, Stubbs replied, “nice.” The DC captain also added, saying, “this mongoose bat only has the handle.” “It hurts more than a break up but trust Bapu to make it funny,” DC captioned their X post.

Delhi to host Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 27

DC’s next challenge will be against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 27. Delhi won their previous game against Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets on April 22. Capitals are in the second spot on the points table with six victories and two losses in eight outings.

Talking about RCB, they won their first home game of the season after beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 11 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24. Delhi will have to be wary of Challengers as Rajat Patidar and his men have been unbeaten in their away matches this season. In their last meeting in Bengaluru on April 10, Delhi emerged victorious by six wickets, riding on local boy KL Rahul’s unbeaten 93 off 53.
