With the County Championship Division One 2025 underway in England, Surrey is locking horns with Yorkshire at the Kennington Oval in London. On the opening day of the 28th County Championship match between the two sides, the two teams had a fare share, but wicketkeeper-batter Ben Foakes' catch was just outside the box, which left everyone in awe of the 32-year-old's athleticism.
Winning the toss, the Rory Burns-led side elected to bowl first, thus inviting the Yorkshire side to bat first. The Jonny Bairstow-led side were bowled out for 255 in their first inning with their skipper top-scoring with a 114-ball 89. Despite his crucial innings, Ben Foakes stole the limelight.

The moment took place in the 33rd over of the inning when the Yorkshire side were still trying to build the momentum after the opening session. With Tom Lawes back into the attack, he bowled a sharp bouncer. While any batter would have expected that the ball drops into an empty gap in the short fine leg region, but the Surrey wicketkeeper, Ben Foakes pulled off one of the best catches of all-time.
Moreover, Foakes took four catches altogether, dismissing James Wharton, Adam Lyth, Matthew Revis, and the most discussed Tattersall.

Speaking of the match, in response to Yorkshire’s 255, Surrey finished Day 1 at 46/0 in 13 overs. At the time of writing, Surrey trailed by 124 runs, having scored 131 at the loss of two wickets in 37.3 overs with Kurtis Patterson (41 off 72) and Daniel Lawrence (15 off 21) in the middle.
