After Diogo Dalot produced the lead for the Red Devils with his first-half header it was doubled by substitute Marcus Rashford in the 65th minute. Legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo also got his name into the scoring sheet with his 81st-minute winner.

In the first half, Manchester United players struggled to score a goal before Dalot broke the deadlock in the 44th minute. During the match, Antony showed exciting moves and electrifying sprints but couldn't score a goal. The 22-year-old forward showed his trademark 360 spins and overhit the pass leading to the goal-kick. United boss Ten Hag appeared to be furious with the showboating skills of the Brazilian forward.

After the first half, Antony was replaced by Marcus Rashford, who went on to score in the 65th minute. 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho showed a tremendous skillset in the game against Sheriff before getting substituted by Donny van de Beek in the 79th minute.

The Portuguese captain has experienced difficult days after he refused to play against Tottenham in the last few minutes of the game and left the field before the match ended. Following the incident, Manchester United decided to rest Ronaldo for the clash against Chelsea.

However, the 27-year-old Portuguese made his return to Old Trafford with a bang as he found the back of the net with only nine minutes remaining on the clock. After his goal, Cristiano ditched his signature 'SIUUUU' celebration and performed 'the peace of mind' celebration, which he did after scoring his 700th club career goal against Everton.

This was the 701st goal for the Manchester United forward and his only third goal this season across all competitions . Bruno Fernandes crossed the ball into the box and Cristiano Ronaldo scored from close range after his initial header was saved by the Sheriff goalkeeper.
