Fans gathered in large numbers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to pay their last tributes to Australia's one of the finest cricketers Shane Warne. The Victorian government hosted a state memorial service for the legendary spinner who passed a few weeks ago in Thailand. The state government had made the announcement about the memorial service and had asked the fans to come to the venue to celebrate Warne's achievement and legacy and also pay tribute to him.

"Mr. Warne didn't just inspire a cricketing generation – he defined it. Born for the big occasion, he gave us irreplaceable MCG memories: the Ashes hat trick, his 700th wicket, and calming Bay 13 in his trackies. Mr. Warne’s performance on the pitch drew us to the game that he cared so deeply for. The State Memorial Service will be an opportunity for Victorians to pay tribute to Mr. Warne’s contribution to his sport, to our state, and the country," the state government had said in its announcement.

Everyone from former cricketers to current cricketers came together to pay last tributes to Warne. Glenn McGrath, Adam Gilchrist, Brian Lara, Nasser Hussain, Glenn Maxwell, David Warner, were all present at the MCG.
