Former Pakistan speedster Junaid Khan has indicated that there is a possibility of match-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He came up with the indirect claim after Ishan Kishan’s controversial dismissal in the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI), held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. During the game between the two sides on April 23, Ishan was given out in the third over of the innings while attempting to play a stroke towards the on side against Deepak Chahar. Wicket-keeper Ryan Rickelton assisted Chahar to get rid of the left-handed batter. The on-field umpire Vinod Seshan was going to declare the delivery wide but eventually raised his finger.
Drawing attention towards Kishan’s dismissal, former Pakistan stalwart Junaid took to X and posted the clip of the incident that took place in the match. “Daal my kuch kala hai... #MIvsSRH #MSVSIU,” wrote Junaid on X. In the last few days, IPL has come under the allegations of match-fixing. Earlier, ad-hoc committee convener Jaydeep Bihani accused Rajasthan Royals (RR) of losing their game intentionally against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Jaipur on April 19.
SRH and CSK to lock horns in Chennai on April 25
SRH and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be clashing against each other at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 25. Both teams will square off against each other for the first time in this tournament and they will be required to come out victorious in this contest to keep their respective campaigns alive.
Hyderabad and Chennai share similar numbers in terms of appearances, victories and losses in this competition. Both possess two wins and six losses in their eight outings respectively. However, CSK lag behind Pat Cummins and his men as the Yellow Army’s net run rate is worse which places them at the bottom of the points tally.
