Punjab Kings, a team flying high in the Indian Premier League 2023 with two wins in two matches, have been strengthened even further with the arrival of Kagiso Rabada from South Africa. One of the most feared fast bowlers in the world, KG, is going to take part in his second consecutive season of the IPL for the Punjab franchise.

To announce Kagiso Rabada’s arrival to the squad, Punjab Kings posted a short clip of him doing the signature sloping shoulder style of Pushpa, made famous by Telugu actor Allu Arjun. They captioned it, “Flower nahi, fire hai KG!” It is no coincidence that this KG Rabada clip got shot at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana, the state from where Allu Arjun’s movie career gained prominence.

In the IPL 2022, Kagiso Rabada had a very impressive first-ever season for PBKS as he picked up 23 wickets in 13 matches with a decent economy of 8.46. Through his IPL career, beginning in 2017 for Delhi franchise, he has picked up 99 wickets in 63 matches at a good economy of 8.26.

KG Rabada’s return to PBKS gives their management a problem of plenty in the bowling department. It’s because Nathan Ellis and Sam Curran are already performing well for the team in all three phases of the bowling innings. The inclusion of Rabada in the XI might happen at the expense of Sikandar Raza who hasn’t been involved much in the thick of things for Punjab Kings.
