Kolkata Knight Riders coach Chandrakant Pandit shared an emotional moment with star performer Rinku Singh after beating Gujarat Titans.  In match 13 of the Indian Premier League 2023, KKR took down the defending champions on the final ball of the match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Rinku Singh was the undisputed hero of the match as he smashed Yash Dayal for 5 consecutive sixes to take KKR over the line in the most unlikely of ways.

As the match finished, KKR players stormed the field to congratulate their teammate Rinku Singh for his unreal performance. But the most surprising moment caught on camera during that victory celebration was the big hug given by Kolkata head coach Chandrakant Pandit to his new protege Rinku Singh.

Since Chandrakant Pandit is known to be a hard taskmaster as a coach in the cricketing circles, not many people expected him to be this emotional around his players, especially in front of everyone. It also means a lot in terms of how much he wants to make a difference in KKR’s fortunes during his current coaching stint.

Meanwhile, in his post-playing days, the former Indian international has already coached Vidarbha to consecutive Ranji Trophy titles in 2018 and 2019. He also helped Madhya Pradesh win its first-ever Ranji Trophy title in 2022 before joining Kolkata Knight Riders as a head coach in the 2023 IPL season.
