McLaren have revealed a brand-new chrome livery for their home race, the British Grand Prix, as part of their 60th-anniversary celebrations. The team have partnered with Google to bring back elements of their iconic chrome design, which they used from 2006 to 2014, and which saw them win their last drivers' title with Lewis Hamilton in 2008.

The chrome livery will feature on both MCL60 cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who are currently tenth and 14th in the drivers' standings respectively. Norris will also sport a special chrome helmet and boots, while both drivers will wear bespoke race suits for the occasion.

The livery was unveiled at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, with Norris, Piastri, and McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown in attendance. “It’s no secret that racing fans love McLaren’s classic chrome livery,” said McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown. “Google Chrome wanted to bring back elements of this iconic livery to celebrate our team’s history at the British Grand Prix, and we’re excited to be able to give our fans what they want.

The chrome livery follows McLaren's previous special liveries this season, such as the 'Triple Crown' design that they ran in Monaco and Spain earlier this year. The team is currently sixth in the constructors' championship falling behind RedBull at No. 1, Mercedes at No. 2, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Alpine at three, four and fifth position.
