Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has advised Virat Kohli to take part in the upcoming Test series against England before announcing his retirement from the longest format of the game. Notably, there are several rumours going on that Kohli has told BCCI that he wants to retire from Test cricket but the board has urged him to stay for the five-match Test series in England starting on June 20. India will already miss the services of former skipper Rohit Sharma who bid adieu to red-ball cricket on May 7.

Just a few days after Rohit Sharma’s Test cricket, the reports that Virat Kohli is planning to call off his Test career also started circulating. The cricketing fraternity also came up with different reactions to this and Mohammad Kaif also advised Kohli to play in the England series and end his career on a high-note.

"Virat Kohli, Hindustan ka babbar Sher ab aram ke mood mein hai, Kyuki retirement ki taraf unka zehen jaara hai. What I feel is that he has to go to England and prove a point and end his Test career on high notes, just like he did during the T20 World Cup final,” Kaif said on his social media post.

There was one ball that had been troubling Virat for many years: Mohammad Kaif on Virat Kohli’s struggles against outside off deliveries

Speaking further, Mohammad Kaif also highlighted Virat Kohli’s weakness against the outside edge deliveries and also mentioned that this has been troubling Kohli for so many years. He also mentioned about the recent dip in Kohli’s Test form despite scoring a hundred on the first Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth.

Kyuki ek aisi ball thi jo unko bahut saal se pareshan karri thi, wo thi off swing ball. Aisi ek bala thi jo tal nahi paayi unke career mein. (Because there was one ball that had been troubling him for many years, that was the off-swing ball. It was one such ball that could not find rhythm in his career.) He tried a lot. tried He % effort. He every match. But he couldn't. I first time. Australia, after scoring in Perth, Virat Kohli got out of form. This has never happened" the former cricketer added.
