Moments before the first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 began at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, a scintillating airshow was held to mark the start of the coveted tournament in Pakistan. When the airplanes flew over the stadium in a mindblowing formation, leaving the national colours streaks of Pakistan from their tails, the New Zealand players, including Devon Conway, standing past the boundary rope hilariously ducked for cover.

The incident happened prior to the start of the New Zealand batting innings after Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to bowl first at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. While Devon Conway bent his back to cover himself as the planes flew by, the likes of Glenn Phillips and Mark Chapman looked above and sideways for a second before having a smile on their faces.

As of this writing, New Zealand have reached 48/2 total after 10 overs in their innings, losing the key wickets of Devon Conway and Kane Williamson cheaply in the first power play stage against Pakistan.
