In the Quetta Gladiators’ game against Karachi Kings, an off-break unidentified bowler came into the limelight who was just one match old into professional cricket before breaking into the Quetta Gladiator’s squad as the replacement of the Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.

Mystery spinner, named Usman Tariq debuted in the PSL 2024 season against the Multan Sultans and went wicketless in that match finishing with the decent figures of 4-0-27-0 in a high-scoring encounter. The USP he possessed was the ability to spin the ball both ways.

It was in the match against Karachi Kings when he caught the attention with his bowling and the unusual action he had. The action reminisces the baseball approach the thrower uses in the game. Stopping before the delivery with a jump, he has all the traits of a baseball thrower.
