With Chennai Super Kings already through to the finals of IPL 2021, it was time to find the team that will face them in the grand finale of the tournament on October 15. The stage was set for Qualifier 2 in Sharjah with Delhi Capitals locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in the knockout match. With a place in finals up for grabs, the stakes were quite high and it was Eoin Morgan who won the crucial toss as he asked DC to bat first on Wednesday.
Despite it being such a big match, it did not stop young DC captain Rishabh Pant from having some entertainment ahead of the clash. Much to everyone's surprise, the 24-year-old decided to pull off a hilarious prank on match official in Sharjah.
Some fun for DC captain ahead of Qualifier 2
The funny incident took place when the DC players were choosing the match ball ahead of the contest. Reserve umpire Anil Chaudhary was out on the field with the box of cricket balls and experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was checking them out. This is when Rishabh Pant entered the scene as he nudged the match official from behind, leaving Anil Chaudhary absolutely confused.
The umpire completely looked baffled, but Pant calmed him down and revealed that it was him as the match official smiled. A Twitter user shared the video of the hilarious incident with a caption, "24-year-old kiddo," reflecting on Rishabh Pant's habit of producing these kinds of childish things on regular occasions which is something that fans really adore about him.
