With India reeling in the chase of 260 after a top-order collapse, wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant stood tall and smashed a century to see his side home in the series decider. The stylish batter kept a calm head and unleashed his best self to counter every challenge thrown at him by the English bowlers. Pant did not look bothered even once in his innings as if he had already seen sealing it for India.

Coming in to bat at No.4, Pant played through the innings and scored his maiden ODI hundred. The southpaw kept knocking boundaries at regular intervals to keep the scoreboard ticking for India. In the process, he scored a century. And as soon as the batter crossed the three-figure mark, he brought out the T20 version of himself as he smashed five boundaries in a row.

With 24 runs required off 54 balls, Pant decided to finish things quickly. He targeted Willey who came to bowl the 42nd over for England. The batter started the over with a boundary that came with the help of the flat-batted forehand over mid-off. Rishabh Pant then sent the ball in the square leg region for the second boundary of the over. Another one came through extra cover followed by the fourth one in the fine leg region. For the fifth boundary, Pant blasted a half-volley down the ground.
