Mumbai Indians star opener Rohit Sharma received the dressing room batting award after hitting his second consecutive half-century in IPL 2025 in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, April 23. The badge was given to him by another MI batting star Suryakumar Yadav in the dressing room.
MI registered their fourth consecutive win of the season after they comfortably defeated SRH by seven wickets in Hyderabad. After receiving the award, Rohit Sharma said “Let’s keep doing, what we have been doing consistently. I spoke in the huddle before the start of the play that we need to be doing things consistently and today was another good exampled of that. Let’s just carry that.”

MI jump to 3rd spot in point table after 7-wicket win over SRH
Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians registered a convincing seven-wicket over SRH. With the help of Heinrich Klaasen’s fighting 71(44) runs, SRH posted 143/8 in their 20 overs. For MI, Trent Boult shone with the figures of 4/26 and was later awarded player of the match for his spell. In reply, Rohit Sharma came up with his second consecutive fifty of IPL 2025 and took the match away from SRH. the opening batter scored 70 runs off 46 balls hitting eight fours and three sixes.
After that, Suryakyumar Yadav gave finishing touches with 40*(19) runs as MI chased the winning target in just 15.4 overs. With this win, MI made a huge jump in the points table as the five–time champions are now standing at the third spot with five wins and four losses this season so far. The Hardik Pandya-led side now need to win three off their remaining five matches to qualify for the playoffs.
