Los Angeles Lakers faced their fourth loss of the NBA preseason as they encountered a 113-118 deficit against Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday. During the game, Lakers guard Russell Westbrook was spotted ignoring teammate Patrick Beverley's call for team huddle while stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis paid attention.

After failing to qualify for the NBA Playoffs in 2021-22 season, Los Angeles Lakers are having a dull preseason this year as they have managed to win just one out of their five games. On the other hand, Minnesota Timberwolves, who lost to Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the 2021-22 playoffs, are unbeaten in their four preseason games.

In the starting minutes of the third quarter, Lakers guard Patrick Beverely called for a team gathering to discuss their defensive approach as Timberwolves were leading the game by four points at that time.

While LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Lonnie Walker assembled, Russell Westbrook appeared to ignore the call and stood at a distance. Davis seemed to approach Westbrook to join the team huddle after the guard ignored Beverley's calls.

Russell Westbrook, who is widely regarded as one of the best NBA guards of all-time, had a lackluster last season with the Lakers while the LA side are committed to team up the guard with fellow stars this season. On Thursday, Westbrook played for 25 minutes, scoring just five points and made four assists and three rebounds.

The NBA regular season starts in a week and the nine-time All-Star is not showing a positive approach towards pairing up with his teammates with his recent behavior.

Lakers need to put their star players on the same page if they want to contest for the NBA championship this season. While LeBron James showed his intent of building a chemistry with new signing Patrick Beverley, the 2016-17 NBA MVP has shown ignorance to align with his teammate.
