The 2023 Indian Premier League received a near-perfect finale with Chennai Super Kings beating Gujarat Titans to win their fifth title in tournament history. After a poor bowling effort, CSK put together an incredible chase which probably missed captain MS Dhoni finishing off the game in his trademark style. Instead, captain cool got out on a first ball duck which immediately silenced CSK fans all around the world.

Reactions to Dhoni’s wicket have been since making the rounds, but the best reaction so far has been from Sak shi Dhoni , MS Dhoni’s wife, who was watching the game from the stands. Facing Mohit Sharma on the fifth ball of the 13th over when he drove his first ball straight into Hardik Pandya’s hands. As the umpire’s finger went up and Dhoni was walking back, the camera panned to Sakshi Dhoni, who was seen throwing her hands in disbelief while looking at their daughter Ziva Dhoni.

But thankfully for the Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja brought out his A-game and finished off the game with a struggling Shivam Dube, who wasn’t able to find the boundary rope. After Dhoni’s wicket, Mohammed Shami came up for the 14th over and further added pressure on CSK as he only gave eight runs leaving 13 runs for the final over.
Things were still gloomy for Chennai as Mohit Sharma started off with a dot ball and then gave away just three runs on the next three balls. With 10 required off two balls, Sharma missed his length and went for a massive six straight down the ground. Then on the last ball, Mohit missed his length as the ball hit Jadeja’s pad raced away for a four and sealed CSK’s fifth title in IPL history.
