shubman gill century sportstiger

India had a good outing with the bat in the first ODI against New Zealand on Wednesday as the Men in Blue scored 349/8 in their designated 50 overs. India had only one man to thank for their massive score- Shubman Gill. The opening batter was in impeccable touch as he ended with 208 against his name which he scored off 149 deliveries. Gill looked in fabulous touch right from the start as he brought up his half-century in just 52 balls.

The batter topped it up with a century, his 3rd in ODI cricket. Gill reached to his century in 87 balls. Even with wickets falling at the other end, Gill continued his onslaught and scored 150 runs off just 122 balls. But the opening batter did not stop there. Gill then went on to bring up his maiden double ton in international cricket and he did it in some style. The batter hit Lockie Ferguson for a hattrick of sixes to bring up double century for himself.

Gill, who often holds his horses while celebrating a century, did not hold back this time as he roared in delight after reaching the mark.
