With the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 just round the corner, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently shared a video where two of the veterans of the game, skipper Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja recalled the ICC tournaments they have been a part of. In the beginning of the video, Team India skipper can be seen recalling his 17 ICC events.

However, as he counted them all, his teammates, Ravindra Jadeja and deputy Shubman Gill both were left in awe of it. As shown in the later part of the video, Ravindra Jadeja questioned Shubman Gill about his media days appearances. However, it is well understood that Gill has been part of comparatively lesser number of ICC events after he made his debut in 2019.

How many Rohit has?: Shubman Gill left in awe of Rohit Sharma’s 17 ICC media day apperances

On being asked about his media day appearance, Gill replied, "Me? I played the 2023 World Cup, was part of the 2024 one, and now this is my third. No wait, two WTC finals too. So that's five.” Veteran India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja didn’t shy away before reminding Gill who the bosses are. "I have 15-plus. You know how many Rohit has? He has just 9 T20 World Cups. Virat could have more," Jadeja said, leaving Gill in silence.

Watch Shubman Gill’s reaction on Ravindra Jadeja’s “Rohit has 17” remark:

As shown in the earlier parts of the video which saw Rohit and jadeja drive down to the venue, the 37-year-old stated, “This is my 17th appearance.” "Nine T20 World Cups, three 50-overs World Cup. That's 12; and two Champions Trophies. That's 14. And two World Test Championships. Make that 17,” Rohit reiterated. On the other hand, the Gujarat-born player, Ravindra Jadeja is also not far behind, making to his 15th ICC media day appearance.

It is to be noted that Rohit Sharma played his first ICC event in the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa and has since featured in all editions of the 20-over spectacle – 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2021, 2022, 2024. Besides this, the Mumbai batter has been part of India's 50-overs World Cup campaigns in 2015, 2019 and 2023, although he missed being part of the 2011 squad. The 2025 edition of Champions Trophy makes it his third, along with two appearances in the World Test Championship Final. As for Jadeja, barring the 2007, 2012 and 2022 editions of the T20 World Cup, he has been part of India's highs and lows over the last decade and a half.
