India bundled out Australia at the score of 188 on the back of a brilliant bowling performance from Mohammed Shami and Siraj in the first ODI. Earlier, Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited the Steve Smith-led side to bat first at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

With the scoreboard reading 174/5, Shami gifted another wicket to the Aussies in Cameron Green. With Shami going for back-to-back wickets, Shubman Gill who was stationed at slip region dropped the new batter on crease in Marcus Stoinis. After dropping Stoinis with an easy catch, Shubman Gill spoke some abusing language in frustration.

However, Gill later redeemed himself with two absolute stunners later in the match. In the 32 nd  over of the innings, Shubham completed a diving catch to dismiss Marcus Stoinis after earlier dropping him. He later dived towards his right and completed a low catch to send Sean Abbott back to the pavilion off Mohammed Siraj’s bowling in the 34 th  over.
