Curry becomes first black player to win the celebrity tournament
After an excellent showing at the Lake Tahoe-hosted tournament, Steph Curry became the first black player ever to win the American Century Championship. The four-time NBA champion also became the first active athlete to win it in twenty-five years. He was ecstatic following his win, as he rightly should be given his strong showing throughout.
Only a day following his ace that went viral, Curry sank a final-hole, 18-foot eagle putt to seal the championship. He had to make the shot to win, and he pulled up the clutch, even celebrating before the ball had gone into the hole. The Warriors guard celebrated by tossing his hat into the air and running to hug his wife Ayesha.

“I don't do this for a living, so it's something you dream about,” Curry said. “I've been playing in this tournament for almost a decade and now I've got some hardware to show for it. It's pretty special.” Curry’s prize winnings of $125,000 will be donated to charity.
