
Sydney Thunder's skipper David Warner showed a brilliant piece of athleticism to dismiss Ashton Agar during match number 33 of the 2024-25 Big Bash League (BBL) against Perth Scorchers at Sydney Showground Stadium. Trying to hit Muhammaad Hasnain over mid-off, Agar swinged the bat in an attempt to get a boundary, However, standing near the 30-yard circle, Warner didn’t let the opportunity slide and ended up taking a spectacular catch.
During the 14th over of the Scorchers’ innings, Ashton Agar went after Muhammaad Hasnain’s outside off delivery. At first, it was looking like that the ball would easily go near the boundary line after passing the 30-yard circle. However, David Warner kept his eye on the ball till the end and ended up taking a tremendous catch while diving backwards. Warner caught the ball while diving in the air and kept it in his hand till the end.

Talking about the match, Sydney Thunder reached at the top of the points table again as they defeated Perth Scorchers by 61 runs to register their fifth win of the season. On the other hand, the Scorchers seemed to completely lose their winning momentum as they suffered their fourth straight defeat of the season. Batting first, Thunder posted a total of 158/7 with Sam Konstas top scoring with 53(42) runs hitting five fours and two sixes. Apart from that, Tom Andrews also gave finishing touches with 37*(13) hitting three fours and as many sixes.
In reply to Sydney Thunder’s 153/8, Perth Scorchers were bowled out for just 97 runs in 17.2 overs. For the Scorchers, Aaron Hardie was the top scorer with 22(17) runs. Jason Behrendorff scored 17*(10) runs. For the Thunders, Chris Green took three scalps, Nathan McAndrew took two while Tanveer Sangha, Tom Andrews and Muhammaad Hasnain scalped a wicket each.
