Ruben Amorim, the Manchester United manager, sounded quite optimistic about the future of the club ahead of their FA Cup fifth round clash against Fulham, which will be played on Sunday, March 2, at the Old Trafford. The 40-year-old spoke about how he sees a clear path for the club to achieve success in the near future with the backing of the club’s board members, despite the recent run of indifferent results ever since he took the coveted job in November last year.

Notably, during their recent Premier League match at home, Manchester United walked away with a narrow 3-2 win over Ipswich Town, who are in the relegation fight. The contest was far from plain sailing for the Red Devils as they had to play the entire second half with 10 men after Patrick Dorgu received a straight red for a rash challenge on Omari Hutchinson.

I see a clear path, and I see that from the board also: Ruben Amorim

Harry Maguire scored the winner in the early stages of the second half, ensuring that Manchester United stay in 14th place in the Premier League standings with 33 points, sandwiched between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham on goal difference. After that, Omar Berrada, the chief executive of Manchester United, spoke about cutting more than 200 jobs in the second round of redundancies at the club, which is something Ruben Amorim talked about in his recent press conference.

He was quoted as saying, as per BBC Sport, “I see a clear path, and I see that from the board also. They are also doing difficult changes. They are not popular but they are doing it because they have a vision. In the future we need to show some results. You can do a lot of changes but if you don't have results, people don't feel confident and happy.”

Ruben Amorim went on to reiterate that Manchester United have a “clear path” to becoming one of the best clubs on and off the pitch once again, and remarked, “The good thing is we have a clear path. Now [it] is hard but we are doing things to achieve success in the future.”
