In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Eliminator between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the New PCA Stadium, when the former side lost Shubman Gill in the first over of the innings, several cricket supporters would’ve thought that the chances of GT are negligible in the game. Despite Gill’s early dismissal, and Jos Buttler’s unavailability, one man didn’t lose hope and came forward in the crunch situation. Sai Sudharsan, who has been in terrific form this season, stepped up and took MI’s bowling attack to the cleaners.

He smashed his fifty in just 28 balls and brought his team back into the contest. His belligerent side has also emboldened his Tamil Nadu teammate Washington Sundar, who also batted with an attacking approach and scored his 48 off just 24. Noting Sudharsan’s breathtaking batting show, netizen are showering praise on him. An X user named Johns wrote, “FIFTY FOR SAI SUDHARSAN - What a consistency, the deal for future, mighty impressive in all phases in big moments.”

Jasprit Bumrah gets rid of Washington Sundar and brings MI back into the match

With GT heading towards the target swiftly, Jasprit Bumrah held his nerves and cleaned up Washington in the 14th over of the innings. Both Sudharsan and Sundar stitched an 84-run partnership off just 44 balls. Bumrah has troubled Titans so far in the match as he has splurged only 19 runs after bowling three overs.

After Sundar’s departure, impact player Sherfane Rutherford joined Sudharsan in the middle. As of writing, Gujarat are 161/3 in 15 overs, with Sudharsan batting at an unbeaten 80 off 48 while Rutherford with an unbeaten eight off six accumulated through a four against Ashwani Kumar.
