Team India kicked off their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8s campaign with a clinical 47-run win over Afghanistan. Batting first, India registered 181 runs on the board with Suryakumar Yadav scoring a half-century followed by Hardik Pandya (32) and Virat Kohli (24). Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan and pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi picked up three wickets each. During the chase, Jasprit Bumrah unleashed his wrath upon Afghanistan batters and ended with a bowling figure of 4-1-7-3. Arshdeep Singh continued his wicket-taking form and picked three wickets while Kuldeep Yadav bagged two wickets in his first match at the T20 World Cup 2024. India bowled out Afghanistan on 134 runs to win the match by 47 runs.

Laxman to be head coach for Zimbabwe series; Gambhir to take charge from Sri Lanka tour: Reports
