Rain washes out England vs Scotland T20 World Cup 2024 match

The opening game of defending champions England, against Scotland, in the Men's T20 World Cup 2024 was washed out due to rain in Barbados. Opting to bat first, Scotland's openers put on a strong partnership that led them to a good position despite rain interventions. The match started after a delay because of a damp spot on the pitch. Eventually when it began, no overs were lost. Scotland racked up 51 in 6.1 overs before rain made an appearance and forced a delay of over two hours and further washing out the match, followed by no result.

Max O'Dowd helps Netherlands prevail over fighting Nepal

Netherlands kickstarted their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign with a win as they beat Nepal by six wickets in their Group D match on Tuesday, June 4. Earlier, Scott Edwards won the toss and put Nepal to bat first. Despite skipper Rohit Paudel’s efforts, the side could only add 106 runs before they were bundled out. Later, Max O’Dowd’s unbeaten 54-run knock helped the side chase the total in 18.4 overs to register an easy win.  

Maheesh Theekshana takes indirect dig at India; calls T20WC scheduling "unfair"

Maheesh Theekshana took an indirect dig at Team India after Sri Lanka registered a six-wicket defeat against South Africa. Theekshana said, “So unfair for us, we have to leave everyday because we are playing at four different venues.”  However, he refrained from naming the teams and added that a few teams are staying just 14 minutes to the ground.

The T20 World Cup 2024 clash between England and Scotland presented an incredible highlight thanks to Michael Jones. The Scottish opener hit the second ball for a massive six which went on the roof of the Kensington Oval. Then as the camera followed the maximum, the ball damaged one of the solar panels above the stadium in Bridgetown.

Pat Cummins loses luggage; Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc face hiccups in travel

Former India cricketer Yusuf Pathan, who made his debut in politics, defeated his opponent from Congress, the multiple time sitting Member of Parliament (MP), Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. After his win, Pathan thanked everyone for standing by his side and believing in him. “I congratulate all of you who have been with me. I am happy. It is not only my win but also of all the workers," he said.

Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) issues NOC to Hanuma Vihari

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) finally issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to cricketer Hanuma Vihari on Tuesday, June 4. Earlier in March, the ACA served a show-cause notice to Vihari after he accused the ACA of removing him from captaincy and vowed not to play for the state again. The cricketer had been asking for the NOC for the past two months but finally got it on Monday.

The Members of Parliament of Nepal were spotted wearing the team jersey to extend their support for the team at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The incident took place ahead of Nepal’s T20WC 2024 opener against Netherlands.
