The Men in Blue etched historic feat as they became the second most successful team in ODI World Cup history after their 100-run win over England on October 29, Sunday in Lucknow. Notably, it was also the first time that India defended a total in the ten-team tournament, registering their 59 th win in ODI World Cup history, only second after Australia. On the other hand, in WBBL 2023, the Adelaide Strikers put an end to Brisbane Heat’s unbeaten streak, winning the match by 59 runs. Meanwhile the other match saw Melbourne Stars register a comfortable seven wicket win over Perth Scorchers.

The Men in Blue registered their sixth win on the trot to go to the top of the table. Despite putting up only 229 runs on the board, the Indian bowlers, especially Md Shami and Jasprit Bumrah helped India bundle out the reigning champions at 129, to register a convincing win by 100 runs.
CWC 2023: Dushmantha Chameera replaces Lahiru Kumara in Sri Lanka squad
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has approved Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement for Lahiru Kumara in the Sri Lanka squad. Chameera, who has played 44 ODIs, was named as a replacement after Kumara was ruled out due to a left thigh muscle injury sustained during training in Pune ahead of match against Afghanistan.

BCB mulling to make change in support staff after Bangladesh’s performance in CWC 2023
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is reportedly mulling to make changes in their support staff after team’s dismal outing in the Cricket World Cup 2023. As per the recent development, the BCB has revealed that head coach Chandiika Hathurusingha and the assistant coach Nick Pothas will continue but fast & spin bowling coaches Allan Donald and Rangana Herath will not be given extension.

The top seven teams from World Cup 2023 will qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. These seven teams will join Pakistan, who will host the 50-over marquee tournament in two years. The Asia qualifier for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in USA and West Indies will be held in Nepal from 30 October to 6 November. Eight teams in Nepal, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and UAE will take on each other for two spots in the 20-team event.
