The bilateral series between India and Australia, England and Ireland, and Bangladesh and New Zealand have ended and all the teams will commence their ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 preparations as they will finalise their squads on Thursday, September 28. On the other hand, the big four (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh) will play their second team in the Asian Games 2023 delivering a historic day 1 action.

Malaysia beat Singapore in Asian Games 2023
The Group C fixture between Malaysia and Singapore took place on Thursday morning with Malaysia dominating the latter in the match. Malaysia registered a decent total of 160 runs with a loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Singapore, on the other hand, struggled to score runs as they were bundled out on 87 runs.
Australia get consolation win over India in 3rd ODI
The Australian team registered its first win in the three-game ODI series against India. After losing the first two games, the Aussies won the toss and started positively with the bat. The top 4 Australian batters scored half-centuries to place a huge target of 353 runs. Like Australia, India also got off to a stunning start, however, Indian batters failed to convert their starts into big numbers and lost by 66 runs in the third and final ODI.

Nepal thrashed Mongolia in Asian Games 2023
Nepal absolutely dominated their Asian Games 2023 Men's Cricket event opener against Mongolia as the former went on to smash 314 runs to become the first team to score over 300 runs in a T20I match. Apart from that, Nepal's Kushal Malla smashed the fastest T20I century record as he smashed a century in 34 balls while Dipendra Singh Airee broke Indian legend Yuvraj Singh's fastest half-century record as the Nepalese batter smashed a fifty in just 9 balls. Nepal won the match by 273 runs.
Naveen-Ul-Haq announces retirement from ODIs after ICC World Cup 2023
Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen-Ul-Haq announced retirement from ODIs after the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. Naveen-Ul-Haq took to Instagram to share this announcement as the Aghan team reached India for the marquee cricketing tournament. Naveen revealed the decision to retire from the 50-over format was taken to prolong his playing career.

Tamim Iqbal slams BCB over axing from World Cup squad
Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal took a U-turn from his retirement to represent his country in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 and in a shocking development, he was left out of the Bangladesh squad by the selectors. Tamim has hit out at the BCB a day after he was dropped from Bangladesh's World Cup squad, saying he would have been fit in time for the tournament and that the board had "intentionally" created a tough environment for him in the days leading up to the squad announcement.
Shakib Al Hasan responds to Tamim Iqbal's "childish" claims
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan took a sly dig at Tamim Iqbal over his recent comments against the BCB and said, "Someone like Rohit Sharma built his career from No. 7 to opener, scored 10,000-plus runs. If he sometimes bats at No 3 or 4, would it be a big problem? It is totally childish. It is my bat, I will play. No one else can play. A player should bat at any position for the team. Team first."
Shakib added, "You are not thinking about the team at all. People don't understand these things. Why was the proposal given to him?"
Danushka Gunathilaka found not guilty in sexual assault trial
Following Sri Lanka's T20 World Cup campaign last year, Sri Lanka batter Danushka Gunathilaka had remained in Australia since November and recently, it was found that the Sri Lankan cricketer was not guilty of sexually assaulting a Tinder date through the act of "stealthing". Judge Sarah Huggett said, "The evidence establishes that there was no opportunity for the accused to remove the condom during intercourse because that intercourse was continuous."
SA20 Auction: Nicholas Pooran, and Imran Tahir as wildcard players
Ahead of the SA20 auction, West Indies all-rounder Nicholas Pooran, who displayed his tremendous form in recently-concluded CPL 2023, has joined Durban's Super Giants. The SA20 auction took place in Johannesburg on Wednesday and Pooran was unveiled as the wildcard pick for the Super Giants while Joburg Super Kings picked CPL 2023 winning skipper Imran Tahir as their wildcard player.
