Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo led his side to their first ever Arab Club Champions Cup victory on August 12, Sunday. This was Ronaldo’s first ever victory since he joined the Saudi club in December 2022. Al Nassr took down Al Hilal 2-1, where the Portuguese legend scored a brace for his side.
However, his happiness didn’t last long as he suffered an injury on his left thigh. The 38-year-old was taken off the field in an ambulance and he broke down in tears during the same.
India took down Malaysia to win fourth Asian Champions Trophy
The Indian hockey team took down Malaysia in the final of the Asian Champions Trophy on Saturday, August 12. The nail-biting thriller saw the Asian giants defeating their counterparts 4-3. Meanwhile, this wasn’t the only highlight of the entire evening.
The crowd at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium echoed with AR Rahman-composed Vande Mataram. The Indian fans came together and sang the famous rendition of India’s national song to boost the morale of the home team. The match took a dramatic turn, when the Indian team made a solid comeback in the game. The four-time Asian champions took the lead in just 11 minutes by bouncing back in the game from 1-3 to beat their Malaysian counterparts 4-3.
Jannik Sinner reached third ATP Masters 1000 Final in Toronto
Fans of tennis discipline saw Jannik Sinner reach the final of Toronto Open 2023. Sinner took down Tommy Paul 6-4, 6-4 win to make it to his third ATP Masters 1000 final. Earlier, Sinner finished as runner up twice in the Miami Open.
Post match, he said, "It's always a privilege to stand on such a great court, playing a great match against an incredible opponent. I'm just trying somehow to take any challenge that's coming.”
Australia, England reach semi-finals of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 hosts Australia defeated France to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament on August 12, Saturday. The battle saw Australia win 7-6 in the penalty round. In the other quarter-final, England defeated Colombia 2-1 to enter the semi-final round for the third consecutive time.

While Aditi played under-3 for back nine, Diksha chose under-2 to play back nine and made the cut for the first time in Indian women’s golf. Ashok is Tied-ninth while she moved in a position to improve her best finish at the Women’s Open.
