India's star shuttler and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu talked about how former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli motivated her during tough times. She said that Kohli's interviews helped her understand that Kohli's interviews helped her sail through the days of bad form. 

In her interview with the Hindustan Times, Sindhu said,  "I do read some interviews, and I've seen Virat's as well - when you're sad and nothing is working out, how you are and how you come out of it stronger. Initially, Virat too went through a situation where he couldn't score. But coming out of that is incredibly important, even for the greatest athletes. I'm sure every athlete goes through it."

The Indian football team led by Sunil Chhetri defeated Bangladesh 1-0, keeping their knockout hopes alive in the tournament on September 21, Thursday. The Indian skipper scored the decisive penalty in the game with seven minutes of normal match time remaining. India was coming on the back of a 5-1 loss against China in their opening match.

India men's hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh and boxer Lovlina Borgohain have been named as India's flag bearers in the Asian Games 2023. Notably, the latest season of the multi-sport continental tournament will officially begin on September 23, Saturday. The Indian contingent in the event consists of 655 athletes, who will compete in 41 out of 61 sporting disciplines in the Asiad. 

We will give our hundred per cent in every match: Harmanpreet Singh

The Indian men's hockey team's captain Harmanpreet Singh said that their side will give their hundred percent in the Asian Games 2023, which is set to commence on September 23, Saturday. Not only this, but Singh also said that they won't take any time lightly. 

Ahead of the Asiad, Singh told NDTV, " I think our team is all set. We are not going to take any team lightly and will be giving our hundred per cent in every match. We will be going with the same planning and intensity against every opponent."

India's promising wrestler  Antim Panghal lost her semifinal bout to world No.23 Vanesa Kaladzinskaya from Belarus, who is competing as a neutral athlete in the World Wrestling Championship. Manchester United's goalkeeper Andre Onana said that he is the reason behind their side's defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on September 21, Thursday. Onana said that he let the team down and it was due to his mistake that they lost the game. 

Onana said,  "We started very well and after my mistake, we lost control of the game.  It's a difficult situation for me, I let the team down. It's because of me we didn't win this game. We have to move on, it's the life of the goalkeeper."

Lionel Messi gets kiss on neck by Argentine comedian Migue Granados

Football great Lionel Messi got a kiss on his neck from the famous Argentine comedian Migue Granados. In a video uploaded by the comedian, he could be seen popping up behind the Argentina captain and planting a kiss on the footballer's neck. 

The 2022 World Cup winning captain smirked in anticipation and smiled at the comedian, and the video was accompanied by a caption that translates into English as, "Shall we chat baby? TOMORROW 10:00 Hs #MESSIENOLGA / Come for today's Live as we spoil things."

Argentina's local pizza place  Banchero thanked Lionel Messi after the footballer gave them a shout-out on his Instagram story. The Argentina football captain ordered his favourite pizza from the place and posted a picture of the same on his Instagram story. Moments after he uploaded the story, the restaurant saw a huge number of customers in the store. 

The pizza brand shared a picture of a long queue outside their store and wrote,  "Corner of 71st & Collins Ave, check it out! Thank you all for choosing us Thank you for life"

Rafael Nadal hails Novak Djokovic as the best player

Tennis legend Rafael Nadal hailed Novak Djokovic as the best tennis player and said that Djokovic has better numbers than him and hence, is the best. In an interview with AS, the Spaniard said, " I believe that numbers are numbers and statistics are statistics. In that sense, I think he has better numbers than mine and that is indisputable."

Nadal added,  "I think that with respect to titles, Djokovic is the best in history and there is nothing to discuss about that."
