With this no-contest, SRH have secured their playoff spot as they now are placed second on the table with 17 points while the Delhi Capitals have been eliminated. Now the Royal Challengers Bengaluru-Chennai Super Kings match will be a knockout with the hosts needing to win by 18 runs or within 18.1 overs (assuming a first innings score of 200).
Shubman Gill reflects on Gujarat Titans IPL 2024 campaign
Ahead of the match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill reflected on the 2024 season for his team. Gill spoke about how the team missed a few key players due to injuries throughout the tournament and fell short in a few close games.
He said, "It's never easy. Some of our key players got injured before the season, and in the season as well we've had some injuries. It's not easy for the players coming in to be able to perform straight away. But apart from that, I think it was just a matter of one match, here and there. The match against Delhi which we lost by one run, a match like that could go either way."
"I think in the first couple of years a lot of matches like that went in our favour. At the end of the day, the margin is very close, so it's hard to identify or pinpoint a moment or a particular area. But I think collectively as a fielding unit we let ourselves down in some of the key moments."
