Shikhar Dhawan, who has been an institution for Team India at the top of the order in ODIs in the last decade or so, talked about the intensity of India vs Pakistan match at the highest level. The 37-year-old went on to say that whether or not India wins the World Cup, they shouldn’t lose to Pakistan, during the Asia Cup 2023 hype video produced by Star Sports.

The Delhi-born cricketer, who made his last appearance for India against Bangladesh in an ODI on December 10, in Chattogram, has been actively involved on social media this year, making quite a name for himself outside the cricket world. He made his debut in Bollywood last November, in a movie called “Double XL,” a story with elements of cricket in it, featuring Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha.

During his sit-down interview with Star Sports, Shikhar Dhawan was quoted as saying, “It has always been the case of 'Whether or not you win the World Cup, don't lose to Pakistan' (laughs). But winning the World Cup is also important and by god's grace hopefully we will.”

“There's definitely excitement (while playing Pakistan) but also a lot of pressure. There's definitely a satisfying feeling playing against them when the match ends. Whenever I have played Pakistan, we have won mostly. The intensity on the field is also high, but there's also some light chat with them,” he further added.
