India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been seen in the stands with a girl during the Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In the highly-anticipated contest, New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to bat first. Riding on the knocks from Daryl Mitchell (63 off 101) and Michael Bracewell (unbeaten 53 off 40), the Kiwi side delivered a target of 252 runs to the Men in Blue. Spin wizards Kuldeep Yadav (2/40 in 10 overs) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/45 in 10 overs) displayed valiance on the big occasion and delivered impactful spells to their team.
During the first innings, Chahal was seen relishing the game among the spectators. What grabbed eyeballs was the 34-year-old was accompanied by a woman, who is a prominent radio jockey named Mahvash. Chahal earlier hit the headlines for rumours related to divorce with his wife Dhanashree Verma. As per reports, the couple was spotted at the Bandra Family Court in February 2025.
Chahal to feature in Punjab Kings in IPL 2025
Chahal will be delivering his services to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025. The leg-spinner was snapped up by PBKS for a colossal sum of INR 18 Crore at the mega auction held in Jeddah in November 2024. With this deal, he ended up as the fifth costliest player. The veteran will be playing under his Team India teammate Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy in the upcoming edition.
Chahal will join his former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) colleague Glenn Maxwell, who returned to the 2014 runners-up at the amount of INR 4.2 Crore. Punjab will play their maiden IPL 2025 game against the 2022 champions Gujarat Titans (GT) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium on March 25, 2025. Noatbly, Punjab have never qualified for the playoffs after 2014 when they lost the final to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Bengaluru.
