Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is set to miss the IPL 2023 fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium. The news was confirmed by MI's stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav, who stated that Sharma is dealing with a stomach bug and hence has been listed in the impact players list for the fixture.

Replacing Rohit Sharma in the playing XI, South African all-rounder Duan Jensen has been named in the squad. While speaking at the toss, Suryakumar Yadav said, " Will love to bowl first, the wicket looks dry. The ball comes onto the bat nicely later. Rohit is out, he has a stomach bug. Time to put up a good show. We are going with one change, Jansen comes in, rest all is same."
